GBI secures VOD and broadcast deals

Broadcasters and digital networks including Qubo and batteryPOP have picked up multiple series from Genius Brands International.

California-based Genius Brands International (GBI) has inked multiple content licensing deals for animated series Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires ClubThomas Edison’s Secret Lab and SpacePOP.

As a short-form video agreement, New York-based cross-platform network batteryPOP has acquired webisodes from Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club, as well as new music videos from Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab and tween series SpacePOP. The girl-skewing series has also been snapped up by children’s on-demand service Toon Goggles.

For broadcast, STARZ and 24/7 kids channel Qubo have both licensed the US broadcast rights to Secret Millionaires Club and Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab.

The deals arrive as GBI continues to increase its brand presence worldwide. The company recently sold Secret Millionaires ClubThomas Edison’s Secret Lab and superhero feature Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 to broadcasters in Asia like Spacetoon and Medicorp.

It also secured a raft of new licensing partners for SpacePOP including beauty products from TASTE, digital extensions from Bare Tree Media, and crafting items from Canal Toys.
